Maximilen's is an upscale French restaurant located on the main floor of Pike Place Market, south of the fish-throwers. The 1st floor has glorious views of the waterfront. This restaurant is out of my usual price-range, but they offer a Seattle Restaurant Week prix fixe menu and so I jumped at the chance! The servers were very professional and welcoming, and inquired after any dietary restrictions I might have. I chose a cup of split-pea soup as an appetizer, followed by the boeuf bourguignon and a vanilla flan. The meat was tender and the mashed potatoes that came with it were whipped into a lovely shape. The server asked if I wanted bread and I agreed - I didn't realize until the bull arrived that I would be charged extra. I enjoyed the meal, but it was quite expensive! I might choose other, less fancy but equally delicious French restaurants in future.

We have been here twice and ordered the same thing both times: the scallops and the salade niçoise. Both times, my husband says the tuna was some of the best tuna he's ever had. My scallops and pea puree were also amazing, but the mushroom and green bean side tasted only of salt. The first time, the host was a bit rude and standoffish. This was balanced out by our extremely kind server (a Frenchman) that we were lucky to be seated with the second time.

Had an amazing meal here! Had a hard time deciding between the mains but ended up getting the pork and duck confit. The duck was good but the pork was even better and something I would go back for. Overall the service was good and it had a good date night vibe. (The pictures don't do it justice because of the lighting)

Tucked away in the Public Market, the entrance to Maximilien evokes old time charm. A relatively small, intimate space with big windows allowing you to look out afar while dining. But for dinner in the winter, there wasn't much for us to look at, lol. The service was quick even though there seemed to be only one or two working the floor. Both spoke with French accent, so you know you are at a French restaurant. We had the onion soup and mushroom soup. But we're very well prepared. I liked the thyme they put in the onion soup. For main, we tried the Chilean sea bass and the special cassoulet. Sea bass was succulent. The cassoulet was a bit heavy as expected and could use less salt. A good wine list focused on French and regional selections. We tried for the first time a white chateauneuf, they had an excellent one to pair with the food.

We had a dinner for 5 in one of the igloos to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was a great experience. It was definitely a splurge so keep that in mind, but the service was excellent, food was good, and the igloo was really cozy in the rain and nice to have privacy. Get the french onion soup!! I would recommend for a special occasion, the inside of the restaurant looked nice as well.

Absolutely lovely restaurant. Small and charming with unique French decor. The service was excellent. The food of course was impeccable. We had the soup of the day- the seafood chowder - and it was delicious, warm and flavorful and full of big chunks of seafood. I had the duck, and loved the crispy garlic mashed potatoes. It was like eating little fried pieces of garlic. The desserts I loved the profiteroles and the crème brûlée, i was less thrilled about the burnt cheesecake. But I haven't had it before so maybe that's how it supposed to taste. Panoramic view and we enjoyed the sunset on a lovely evening. We left the restaurant and came running back to use the restroom, and the waiter was gracious enough to let us back in after closing. We would absolutely come back here again.

Came for a date with my husband and enjoyed a cozy rainy night in an intimate setting. We had a wonderful time! Location: We made reservations for a Sunday night at 6pm online. Located in Pike Place we were seated indoors upstairs side by side where we had a nice view of the ferris wheel at night. Service: We had a very kind gentleman who provided excellent service and was so friendly. Food: - French onion soup - very delicious and great portions. My husband and I shared everything - fois gras - this was our favorite item of the night! So good! - half baguette with butter - very tasty bread - pork tomahawk - we ordered this because it seemed to be highly recommended. It was tasty but overhyped... we've had better at other restaurants. We felt it lacked some elevated flavor but it was nicely cooked and juicy. Potatoes and veggies were a nice addition. - filet mignon steak with blue cheese- the steak was also perfectly cooked. Very tasty and really enjoyed the salad - the fries were ok. - creme brulee - standard dessert but nicely done. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here!
